Prince Charles and Prince Harry seem to have a fine relationship, but apparently, the Prince of Wales was hoping Harry would be born a little differently. He reportedly wanted a girl.

In “Diana: Her True Story - In Her Own Words,” royal biographer Andrew Morton claims Princess Diana kept Harry’s gender a secret when she was pregnant. She didn’t want to disappoint her husband.

“I knew Harry was going to be a boy because I saw on the scan. Charles always wanted a girl,” she reportedly said, according to The Sun. “He wanted two children, and he wanted a girl. I knew Harry was a boy, and I didn’t tell him.”

Diana allegedly said that Charles was disappointed and that was when their marriage took a turn for the worst.

Though he isn’t a woman, it’s clear that Prince Harry takes after Princess Diana. He’s following in her footsteps by working in Africa. During his and Meghan Markle’s recent tour, he spent the night in a HALO Trust mine-clearing camp. Princess Diana also supported clearing landmines in Africa.

“It has been emotional retracing my mother’s steps along this street 22 years on, and to see the transformation that has taken place, from an unsafe and desolate place into a vibrant community of local businesses and colleges," Harry said in a speech (via USA Today). “I am incredibly proud, as I know my mother would’ve been, of the role that the United Kingdom has played in this transformation through funding and the expertise brought by U.K. specialist organizations such as the HALO Trust and Mines Advisory Group.”

He also takes after his mother when it comes to his hot and cold relationship with the press. It’s something Prince William has a very different view on.
