Princess Diana surprised the world when she stepped out in a not-so-princess-like outfit in one of the parties she attended.

In June 1994, the late Princess of Wales wowed in an off-the-shoulder, form-fitting black silk dress that was dubbed the "revenge dress." The name was associated with the big revelation that Prince Charles made during the same evening.

The Prince of Wales was asked if he was faithful to the mother of his children. "Yes," the royal responded. "Until it became irretrievably broken down, us both having tried." Many took it as an admission to his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.

"We called that 'The Revenge Dress' [because] she wore that the same evening Prince Charles confessed to his adultery with Camilla," said Kerry Taylor, whose company auctioned off 10 of Princess Diana's most recognizable dresses. "While some would have been like, 'I can’t face it this evening,' Diana went out in that dress looking drop dead gorgeous. She made a big statement right there."

Princess Diana reportedly found the dress "too daring" and initially planned on wearing a Valentino dress. However, the People's Princess had a change of heart and opted for the "daring" Stambolian black dress.

According to Princess Diana's stylist, she wanted to "look a million dollars that night." According to Prince Charle's financial aid, Princess Diana took every penny from the future king. In fact, it came to the point that he had to sell his entire portfolio only to fund their messy split.

"Princess Diana took every penny he had," Geoffrey Bignell told The Telegraph. "I was told to liquidate everything, all his investments so that he could give her the cash. He was very unhappy about that. That's when I stopped being his personal financial adviser because he had no personal wealth left. She took him to the cleaners."

In related news, Princess Diana's friend confessed that she only had one love in her life and it's her ex-husband. Princess Diana and Prince Charles only met 12 times before they got married. Not long before her death, the princess told Lana Marks, "I really have only loved one man, and that's Charles."
