Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle could learn a thing or two from Queen Elizabeth II’s younger sister, Princess Margaret.

On the online forum site Quora, royal fans said that at some point in her life, Princess Margaret decided to stop reading the stories written about herself in the newspapers. This is because she was constantly being criticized by a lot of people.

At present, several negative stories about being written about the Duchesses especially Markle. And as such, royal fans are wondering whether or not Middleton and Markle should also do exactly what Princess Margaret did before.

Charles G. Stevens, a resident of the United Kingdom, said that Markle doesn’t really read stories written about her both good and bad. However, this doesn’t coincide with reports that Markle is the type of person who courts publicity.

“Princess Diana knew how to use the media to her advantage. Meghan also does the same… There’s nothing wrong in this… Actresses need all the publicity they can get, and they know how to get it,” he said.

Anni Luneau, a law graduate from the University of Connecticut School of Law, said that Middleton and Markle have already stopped reading about themselves online and in the newspapers.

Kathleen Grace, an artist, and a photographer said that there’s no reason to read into today’s press and social media today. But in the past, things were a bit different. Princess Margaret could prevent herself from having access to newspapers if she didn’t want to read the negative publicity being written about her. But in today’s world, social media is very accessible. And the Royals also have accounts even if they are official.

Christ Hawkes, a UK citizen, also said that Middleton and Markle have already stopped reading about themselves.

“I am sure they realized when they chose to marry into the royal family that there will be haters and adulators and that neither is important to who Catherine and Meghan are,” he said.
