Queen Elizabeth celebrated the 72nd anniversary of her wedding to Prince Philip by attending a royal engagement.

The hardworking monarch held private meetings at Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty was photographed shaking hands with Reggy Martiales Nelson, the ambassador of Suriname, and his wife, Haidy Nelson-Gravenberch.

Her Majesty stunned in her bright pink ensemble during the engagement. She paired her attire with her pearl necklace and earrings. She also carried her bag with her left hand.

The photo of the Queen shows that the 93-year-old royal got a haircut recently. She has also lost a considerable amount of weight. And upon closer inspection, it is also evident that the Queen’s back has become more arched.

Her Majesty didn’t spend the entire day beside her husband, Prince Philip, even though it was their wedding anniversary. The retired royal has been staying in Sandringham throughout the past couple of weeks.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who is already 98 years old, suffered a bit of a wobble weeks ago. A source told The Sun that the dad of four hasn’t been feeling very energetic.

As of late, it is still unclear whether or not the Queen visited her husband in Sandringham after a long day’s work. But the source said that even though the royal couple doesn’t live together, the Queen and Prince Philip call each other every day.

The Queen and Prince Philip first met when the mom of four was just 8 years old. They reunited five years later. When the Queen was 13 years old, she became smitten with 18-year-old Prince Philip.

During his interview with royal biographer Basil Boothroyd, Prince Philip said that he met the Queen at Dartmouth.

“And as far as I was concerned it was a very amusing experience, going on board the yacht and meeting them, and that sort of thing and that was that,” he said.

After writing letters to each other for years, Prince Philip proposed to the Queen in the summer of 1946.
