Queen Elizabeth may be approaching her 94th birthday later this year, but that doesn’t mean the monarch is slowing down when it comes to her important role in the UK. However, as she continues to advance in age, fans have grown more concerned over situations they feel could be testing her Majesty’s health.

In 2019, a photo of Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne welcoming the King, Queen and Prince of Jordan at Buckingham Palace caused alarm for fans as they noticed the Queen’s left hand, which appeared to be sporting a large purple bruise on it. Royal fans speculated about the condition and whether it was serious, though it was notably something that cleared up in time, meaning it was likely just an injury from a simple accident, and the dark color of the bruise was just a result of her age.

However, in more recent months, some are wondering if the Queen has been dealing with too much stress that could have an adverse effect on her. Not only was Brexit something that weighed heavily on her, but personal drama within the Royal Family as a whole has been causing some concern.

Following Prince Andrew’s scandal regarding his former friendship with Jeffrey Epstein (and his likely involvement in his daughter Princess Beatrice’s wedding later this year), the Queen was further left in dismay following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s shocking announcement that they were stepping away from their royal roles and moving to Canada, and another potential scandal unfolded when her grandson, Peter Phillips, announced he and his wife Autumn were divorcing.

There has also been increasing concern about her husband, Prince Philip’s health as well, and it has long been rumored that his age has the Queen considering abdicating her post and officially allowing her son and heir, Prince Charles, to take over.

However, the Queen has seemingly made it clear in recent times that despite all the stress, she doesn’t appear to be stepping back—even as the future of the monarchy is made even more clear.
