As Bachelor nation ponders over who should be the first Black "Bachelor," it only makes sense that the first Black "Bachelorette" weighs in on the conversation.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Rachel Lindsay, who was the lead for Season 13 of the ABC franchise, dished out her opinion on the potential men who could step into that role -- starting with fan-favorite Mike Johnson.

Rachel, much like fans, was shocked to hear that Peter Weber was chosen over the portfolio manager and AirForce veteran for the most recent season of the series. However, she was able to provide a bit of insight as to why he didn't make the cut and noted that she doesn't believe it was because of his race.

"I was told there was a reason. What that reason may be, I don't know," she shared. "I wasn't given a specific answer."

"They do all kinds of background checks and vet things out. I have no idea what the reason was, but they have it. I'm told they have a reason," the 35-year-old attorney explained.

Despite passing on Johnson, Rachel, who admitted she "was definitely up in arms when I found out it wasn't going to be him," still thinks he's got a shot at becoming the "Bachelor," especially since he recently clarified that he is single.

"I feel like that post was on purpose," she said.

Before the "Bachelor" can take place, Clare Crawley's season of the "Bachelorette" needs to happen and since the cast hasn't been officially announced yet, it's unknown if there are any good candidates in that pool of men. Regardless, the network could revert back to its old way of selecting leads, which is something Rachel is a proponent for.

"I'm also an advocate for just bringing somebody in who's not affiliated with the franchise," she said. "If that's what it takes... That's what they used to do."

"They did it with Kristian [Haggerty] and Demi [Burnett, on Bachelor in Paradise]," she added. "So, I don't have a problem with that at all. If you don't feel like there's a good candidate for whatever reason, then let's do whatever we need to do to have a lead of color."
