Rapper DaBaby recently stirred up some conversation among his fans regarding his birth name, which is Jonathan Kirk.

It all began when the "Suge" rapper tweeted about his view on fans calling him by government name on Friday.

“I hate when fans try to call me by the government name and misspell my [expletive],” he wrote with some laughter emojis here. “Bro.. you don’t know me bro.”

The 28-year-old later tweeted that the privilege of calling him by his first name is reserved for his significant other.

Well, it looks like his tweet caused more harm than good seeing that “Jonathan” is now trending on Twitter. The topic has led to quite a bit of funny commentary from his female fans.

And although the “BOP” artist’s name seems to bring him a lot of positive attention, he’s also faced some struggles.

“Y’all gotta learn to be more sensitive to ppl feelings on the internet dawg,” DaBaby tweeted on Valentine’s Day. His post came after rumors that he’d gotten a woman pregnant despite being in a relationship with his 2-year-old daughter’s mother, reports Complex.

“I’m cool w/ [expletive] lying on me, it come with the game. But I hate when the lies put me in the position where I gotta potentially hurt somebody else feelings to clear my name.”

The rapper has confirmed that he does have a second child on the way but said he and his girlfriend were not together at the time of the conception.
