American rapper and record producer Kanye West presented his second ready-to-wear collection at the Paris Fashion Week on March 6, 2012. His debut collection had been a critical flop last fall.

The singer mainly presented a rock-chic look with leather pants, furry peplums, broadtail stretch pants and some suede creations. Supermodel Karlie Kloss strutted her stuff in a backless leather jacket.

The Telegraph UK reported that the collection sampled material that was originally created by others, most notably Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci. That one sample worked so well that in many ways this collection was more of a success than the next season Givenchy collection, shown just a few days ago.

Following a successful career in music, West launched his fashion career and had applied for internships with major European fashion houses earlier. On Jan. 22, 2009, during the Paris Fashion Week, West introduced his first shoe line designed for Louis Vuitton. The line was later released during summer 2009.

Later on Oct.1, 2011, West premiered his women's fashion label, DW Kanye West at the Paris Fashion Week. His show received mixed to negative reviews from various media and fashion houses.

For the current event, celebrities present in the front row included Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Sean Combs, Common and Azealia Banks.
