While singers and celebrity couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have not set a wedding date yet, one tabloid claimed to have an inside scoop on what their “wedding wish” was. However, Gossip Cop confirmed the so-called “special” wish was entirely fabricated and has no truth to it.

The tabloid, which spun the false narrative was Hollywood Life, with its article titled, “Are Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Getting Married? Their One ‘Special’ Wedding Wish Revealed.”

In the article, a so-called anonymous insider claimed to know the couple’s wedding wish, despite the fact they were not even engaged.

“There isn’t anything brewing on a specific engagement or time for the two to get married, but one thing they would love to see happen at their future wedding that they have talked about a couple times is that they’d like Kelly Clarkson to sing for them at it,” the tabloid’s source said. “They are such great friends and Blake would like to have Kelly share in that moment with her beautiful voice. It would be very special.”

As for whether the couple had reached out to the “Because Of You” singer with the request to perform at their wedding or if Clarkson had agreed to do so — the unnamed insider gave no details. Instead, a second source chose to reiterate what was common knowledge — the couple had not set a date for their wedding since they were not even engaged.

“Gwen is in no rush to tie the knot with Blake,” another source told the tabloid. “They are really happy and are just enjoying their time together. While Gwen might love a big wedding, she doesn’t need one right away. Both Blake and Gwen have done that and are in no rush to do it all again after both having gone through painful divorces.”

In the same article a third source went onto speak about how strong Shelton and Stefani’s relationship was, based on which the insider concluded their wedding could not be far away.

“She is sure that he’s her person and ultimately she does believe in marriage,” the third source said. “Even though she’s not talking about it, her friends know it’s in the cards eventually. But as far as their commitment, it seems rock solid. It’s obvious they’re both completely in love with each other and all in.”

However, Gossip Cop debunked the latest rumor as “fake news,” adding the tabloid took Clarkson’s name because she was an easy target, given the fact most fans of the couple knew she was a close friend of theirs.

This was not the first time Hollywood Life had attempted to conjure up untrue stories about Shelton and Stefani. In the past, the tabloid had gone from falsely suggesting Stefani was adopting a baby girl without telling Shelton, the former was pregnant, the couple were eloping together and so on.
