Rockstar Games released several updates for the “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC port following its official release on the platform on Nov. 5. The game developer rolled out update 1.0.9.169 to the Rockstar Launcher to introduce a fix on the issue that caused the prompt, 'The Rockstar Games Launcher exited unexpectedly,' which would at times surface while players are launching “Red Dead Redemption 2.” The game developer also rolled out the “Red Dead Redemption 2” update 1.14, which would solve some stability issues.

The latest update also introduces new content, new emotes, a fresh Legendary Bounty of Etta Doyle, and the Fortune Teller’s Collection. But, that’s all there is from Rockstar Games at the moment, and gamers have to do is patiently wait for the game developer to settle the issues a massive title like “Red Dead Redemption 2” is currently experiencing as it settles into its new platform.

Polygon’s Samit Sarkar earlier reported several technical issues PC players are experiencing. The Verge’s Sam Byford also shares his experience about “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC port, describing it as, “game frequently hitches for upward of three seconds at a time.” This issue is frustrating because it causes players to miss vital dialogue during story sequences since it is jarring the gameplay.

PC Gamers’ James Davenport also shares some of the issues “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC players are experiencing. According to him, some players experienced hard freezes when they arrived at valentine for the first time. Several players experienced occasional audio distortion and crackles.

Some “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC players are reporting game crashes, frequent stuttering, missing textures, and all kinds of minor but frustrating bugs. Other online forums and outlets like YouTube and Reddit amplify the issues of the “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC port issues. Meanwhile, Destructoid reports that a lot of “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC players are experiencing all sorts of problems with the system.

This includes incompatibility with Vulkan and Anti-Virus programs, which many players recommend using DirectX 12. While the list of issues could go on and on, it is reassuring to know that Rockstar Games is aware of the problems that have been plaguing the “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC port. The game developer is currently working on a fix through updates to ease the players’ frustrations and to make sure that they have smoother gaming experience.
