  • Two other staff who were verbally attacked by Irene also received apologies from her
  • The Red Velvet member also made a public apology to the fashion editor on social media

After Red Velvet’s Irene acknowledged the bullying allegations made against her by an editor and apologized, the victim, Kang Kook Hwa, has spoken up about the matter.

The fashion editor, who was allegedly verbally attacked by Irene while on set for a job, took to Instagram to reveal what transpired since she narrated her harrowing encounter with the singer. Kang said that she has already “received scars” that will never be “forgotten.”

“To uphold my dignity as a human being, I wanted to directly receive an apology from person C, and I met those responsible in company B and person C together. Leading up to yesterday's meeting, there was some time and steps of negotiations required,” the editor wrote in an Instagram Stories post obtained by X-Sports News, referring to Irene as “C” and her label SM Entertainment as “B company.”

The editor went on to explain that she didn’t take any action after posting about her encounter with Red Velvet’s Irene because she didn’t want to “create a bigger misunderstanding.” She also said that she received an apology from the company staff who tapped her for the project as well as the managers who witnessed the verbal attack.

Kang revealed that she was accompanied by two people whom Irene also offended, a junior editor and an assistant, and they received an apology from the singer as well.

The editor also explained that she didn’t feel the need to react to the malicious comments from Irene’s fans because the K-pop star “promises not to show such kind of behavior to any other person ever again and to meet in-person and give an apology to me and the two others in my team.”

In her lengthy post, Kang revealed that she requested an official apology from SM Entertainment and Irene that includes an acknowledgment of wrongdoings and a promise to never repeat what happened.

“For this incident, I cannot say this was just a personal incident. This was an action I took to protect the bare minimum of dignity and recover from the personal humiliation for myself and every colleague that has had the same experience as I have until now,” the editor added.

It can be remembered that Red Velvet’s Irene recently came forward and admitted that she was the one who threw harsh words at the editor, who made the incident public via social media. The K-pop star posted a public apology via Instagram, promising to change.

“This incident has made me look back on the past, and I'm very ashamed of my poor words and actions, and I feel the importance of staff members once again. I'll think and act more carefully, so this does not happen again. I'm truly sorry to the fans who support me and for causing worry because of this incident,” Irene wrote.
