U.S. stocks soared on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) ended up 337 points, or 2.9 percent, to close at 12,103. The S&P 500 Index rose 36 points, or 3 percent, to 1,241, while the NASDAQ rose 80 points, or 3.2 percent, to 2,604.

Apple iPhone, iPod iOS 3.1.3 Users Can't Download, Update Apps

Impacted users haven't been able to update existing iPhone or iPod Touch apps or download new ones since a December 16 software update was issued by Apple. The problem is that Apple support has told users to update their operating system to iOS 4 or iOS 5.

Apple's Deal to Acquire Anobit Done: Report

Anobit told employees today that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) had made an offer for the firm and it had accepted. Employees were told that once the deal is formally completed they will be employees of Apple, according to Israel's Calcalist. The deal is reportedly for nearly $500 million, which makes it Apple's largest acquisition. It is also the first acquisition in Israel for the Cupertino, Calif.-based company.

Boeing Dreamliner Hits Delivery Delay

The airline, the first operator of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, said in a statement on its Web site last week that a productivity reason is being given for the delay in delivery. All Nippon said it will delay Dreamliner service between Tokyo and Beijing and between Tokyo and Frankfurt as a result.
