‘Riverdale’
Will Archie (KJ Apa) discover that his dad, Fred (Luke Perry), was shot by Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) dad, Hiram (Mark Consuelos) in “Riverdale” Season 2? The CW

“Riverdale” will kick off its second season with a slew of questions that need to be answered.

Other than revealing Fred’s (Luke Perry) masked shooter in the premiere, Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) would also have to deal with her side of the family. Veronica’s dad, Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) is expected to reunite with his daughter and wife in the upcoming episodes. However, it is still unclear what Hiram’s real reasons for returning to Riverdale are.

There have also been some speculations that Hiram had something to do with Fred’s shooting since he might have learned about his and his wife’s affair while he was in prison. Even “Riverdale” executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa acknowledged the possibility that Hiram could be a suspect.

While speaking with TV Line, he said, “Is he reformed? Is he up to his dastardly deeds? Is he somehow connected to the Fred gunman?”

Meanwhile, Aguirre-Sacasa also teased Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) struggles. “It’s almost like every force of in the universe is out to pry Bughead apart,” he said. A new character named Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) will also be introduced in the upcoming episodes. Toni is described as a bisexual character who will become Jughead’s first friend in Southside High.

Morgan told Glamour during a recent interview that her character will be stirring the pot a little bit for Betty and Jughead. “There might be a little love triangle,” she said.

And if Archie and Veronica’s supporters think their relationship is safe from any kind of trouble, they’re wrong. “There are going to be problems coming in multiple different directions, besieging both of our couples,” he said about Archie, Veronica, as well as Nick St. Clair’s (Graham Phillips) arrival.

Nick and Veronica used to hang out a lot when Veronica was still living and studying in New York. When she went to Riverdale, Veronica became a more responsible daughter and student. Unfortunately, Nick hasn’t outgrown his excessive partying ways, and this could easily cause issues between him and Veronica, as well as Veronica and Archie.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
