A lot of Hollywood celebrities have been victims of hacking, the latest addition to the list is Robert Downey Junior whose Instagram account has been hacked.

RDJ’s social page was filled with ads offering out free iPhones, Apple Watches, PlayStation, Amazon gift cards and Tesla Model Xs, Yahoo News reported. To make it look like RDJ was giving away the gadgets and the car, the hackers added them to RDJ’s highlights on Instagram.

Although the Marvel star's team has taken control of the situation, it remains to be ascertained as to how the hackers managed to gain access to his account.

"I'm sorry to say my Instagram has been compromised... Please steer clear for the time being until it's sorted. Thank you all. I love you 3000," The Iron Man actor tweeted.

Celebrity’s social media accounts being hacked has become quite common these days.

Earlier, Tom Hiddleston’s Instagram page was hacked where the hacker posted screenshots of other Snapchat accounts linked to the actor’s social media account.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, and Google CEO Sundar Pichai also had their accounts hacked by Saudi hackers from the OurMine group. The group used to hack social media accounts of high-profile tech celebrities by accessing their old passwords from LinkedIn and MySpace data dumps.

Model Gigi Hadid too had her Twitter account hacked where hackers praised Adolf Hitler in several tweets and claimed she wished “Germany won World War II”.

Even the British Royal Family wasn’t spared. Their Twitter page was hacked and had tweets related to fungi, redundant alphabet letters, and even toilet-related math teasers.
