Robert Pattinson is reportedly being considered to replace Ben Affleck as Batman in an upcoming DC movie. And now fans are urging the people behind the project to cast Kristen Stewart as the new Catwoman.

On Sunday, Pattinson was photographed rocking a formal ensemble comprising a crisp white shirt, black blazer and matching pants when he attended the HFPA & Participant Media Honour Hep Refugees’ event at the 72nd annual Cannes Film Festival.

The 33-year-old Hollywood actor quietly posed on the red carpet and did not comment or address the rumors. However, Variety reported that Robert is already in talks to play the caped crusader after Affleck’s retreat from portraying Bruce Wayne following 2017’s “Justice League.”

Even though there is no confirmation yet, sources are already saying that Pattinson is the top choice to become the next Batman for the big screen and that the deal between the actor and the studio is expected to close very soon.

As more attention is being directed toward Pattinson’s possible portrayal of Batman, fans of the “Twilight” movies have now voiced their desire to see Robert’s former leading lady and ex-girlfriend, Stewart, be part of the upcoming DC film.

Many fans took to social media last week to urge producers to cast Kristen for the role of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. It is worth noting that back in 2015, Stewart herself told Yahoo Movies that she wants to join a blockbuster superhero movie franchise.

“I love watching those movies,” the 29-year-old actress said at the time. “I would love to show people that I can do more than just be ‘Kristen Stewart’ in a different movie, in a different circumstance.”

Last year, there was also a rumor that Warner Bros. wanted to cast a “Kristen Stewart prototype” for the role of Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl for a solo movie. The movie is confirmed to still be happening, but updated details about it are still scarce.

Even though no one has been confirmed to play Batman yet, Warner Bros. has already scheduled the premiere of the new “Batman” movie to happen on June 25, 2021. Helming the project is first-time DCEU director Matt Reeves.
