Prince Charles reportedly has vampire links to Count Dracula, and royal fans made sure to remind the world about them.

Charlotte Ikonen, a journalist for Daily Star, claimed that Prince Charles’ connection to Count Dracula may be nothing more than a conspiracy theory. However, there also some proofs confirming the connection.

Genealogy records revealed that Prince Charles descended from Vlad the Impaler, a local rule who put his enemies on wooden spikes and became the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

First revealed in Iain Moncreiffe’s 1982 book “Royal Highness,” Prince Charles’ lineage can be traced back through his great-grandmother Queen Mary, the consort of George V, to Vlad IV, the half-brother of the ruler.

Prince Charles also previously appeared in a promotional video for the Romanian National Trust Office, where he joked that Transylvania is in his blood. Prince Charles first discovered his connection to the notorious ruler when he first went to Romania in 1998.

“The genealogy shows I am descended from Vlad the Impaler, so I do have a bit of stake in the country,” he joked at that time.

Last year, Prince Charles was even offered the title of Prince of Transylvania.

The mayor of Alba Iulia, Mircea Have, wrote a letter to the future King and wrote, “We know how much you love Transylvania. It has become your second home and you have been the region’s most valuable ambassador. Moreover, you claim your roots from our legendary Prince Vlad. As you love Transylvania so much, we thought, ‘What if instead of only being the Prince of Wales, you would be known from now on as the Prince of Wales and Transylvania?”

And when he celebrated his 70th birthday two weeks ago, royal fans discussed his connection to Count Dracula by commenting on his photos.

“Happy 70th Charles. Those vampire genes doing you good,” one fan wrote.

“We know how you are looking so good for 70, it’s all that blood you’ve been sucking,” another person commented.
