Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev -- who reportedly purchased an $88 million Central Park West apartment for his daughter while she attended school in New York-- is facing accusations from his estranged wife regarding the true reason for purchasing such a lavish pad.

Rybolovlev made headlines late last year after buying out the pricey 6,700-square-foot apartment from the wife of former Citigroup head, according to the NYPost. However, his wife of 24 years, Elena Rybolovlev, claims that Dmitry purchased the apartment to hide his assets from her. She does not attend school in New York, Elena said of her daughter in the papers she filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Dmitry Rybolovlev, who is ranked the 100th-richest man in the world by Forbes, bought the apartment for $88 million, the highest price ever paid for a New York residence. But Elena, who filed for divorce in 2008, grew suspicious as her former husband indulged himself in a spending spree that included buying a $95 million home in Palm Beach from Donald Trump. She is suing him for buying the New York City apartment with the specific intent of hiding and diverting his personal interest in the property.
