Ryan Reynolds and wife, Blake Lively, in their own way, are extending help amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

Reynolds recently announced that he and his wife will be donating a total of $1 million to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. The 43-year-old Canadian-American actor made the announcement through his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Feeding America network is a hunger-relief organization aiming to connect people with food and end hunger; hence, they closely work with individuals, charities, businesses and the government to end hunger. Meanwhile, Food Banks Canada is a national charitable organization dedicated in helping the Canadians living with food insecurity. This organization aims to relieve hunger by working with and providing support to networks of Provincial Association, affiliate food banks and food agencies that work at the community level.

In Reynold’s social media post, he emphasized how COVID-19 impacted the older adults and low income families. The amount he and Lively committed to donate will be split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. In the same post, Reynolds also called for additional support to these organizations.

In addition, Reynolds also reminded everyone to take care of our bodies and hearts, to leave room for joy and call someone who’s isolated and might need connection.

Not only did Reynolds —and his wife— donate that huge sum of money to provide assistance to the organizations whose been aiding the community amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, his cellphone company, Mint Mobile, also decided to provide free service to all customers for the next month due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reynolds’ mobile company will provide all current and new customers with free unlimited high-speed data add-ons for their accounts, effective immediately, the news outlet, Comicbook, reported on Sunday.

“The last few days have thrown the world into an unprecedented moment of uncertainty,” Mint Mobile stated, through their official Twitter account; hence, having a reliable communication during this time is very important.

Commonly known as COVID-19, Coronavirus disease is a new strain that was discovered in 2019, according to the World Health Organization. This strain of virus has reportedly not been previously identified in humans.

COVID-19 has already infected more than 3,400 people in the United States through Monday and has a fatality rate of at least 60, the National Post reported.

To avoid further spreading of COVID-19, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention had reportedly recommended avoiding large gatherings (more than 50 people). WHO had also made several recommendations to prevent infection spread, like regular hand washing and observe social distancing.
