A Samsung pseudo space satellite crash-landed in the front yard of a home in Merrill, Michigan.

Nancy Mumby-Welke, a resident of Merrill, Gratiot County said that she and her husband, Dan were preparing to take their horses outdoors when they heard a loud thump in their front yard at around 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 26. She found a four-legged aluminum foil-wrapped box outfitted with a solar panel on top of it. The box had "Space Selfie" written on its body and several Samsung plaques. There were two large cameras and a Samsung cellphone inside the box.

The box was still humming and, Welke shared the image in a Facebook post.

"Unbelievable look what just fell out of the sky and 911 is baffled and it's caught up in our tree," Welke wrote.

Samsung had launched the SpaceSelfie campaign on Thursday at an event in London, and model Cara Delvigne unveiled it. Samsung users can send a selfie, and it would be plastered on shots of the Earth’s stratosphere, with the help of Galaxy S10 5G smartphone.

Following the incident, the fire department closed the roadway for 30 minutes because the object was caught in live wire lines, according to Gratiot Central Dispatch. Motorists were also alerted to avoid the area.

A representative from Samsung released a statement on Saturday explaining the incident. Even though it was a planned descent, unfavorable weather conditions triggered an early soft landing in the said rural area. "No injuries occurred and the balloon was subsequently retrieved," the statement read, reported ABC News. "We regret any inconvenience this may have caused."
