Sandra Bullock shared how her new film inspired her to get a new tattoo and be a better mom to her children.

The 57-year-old Oscar winner stars as an ex-con in the upcoming drama movie "The Unforgivable." Her character is on a mission to reconnect with her little sister with the help of her parole officer, played by Rob Morgan.

To prepare for the role, Bullock interviewed several incarcerated women. The encounter inspired her to share "the truth of their journey to how they got there." Bullock spoke with Extra about how meeting the incarcerated women inspired her to be a better parent.

"One of my tattoos was in honor of one of the women that I got to interview that helped me with insight to my daughter," she told the outlet. "She, too, went through the foster care system and there was something that was similar and she said... 'Oh, my God, that happened to me. That's who I was.'… I went there to get her story and I left there being a better parent because of the gift that she gave me."

Bullock has two kids, Louis Bard Bullock and Laila Bullock. She adopted her eldest son in 2010. After five years, she adopted Laila.

When asked what tattoo she was talking about, Bullock said it was a "barbed wire with a butterfly on it."

Since the film was drama, Bullock was asked if there were light moments on set and how she and her co-stars kept their energy up.

According to the "Miss Congeniality" star, she usually needed a little bump after lunch at about 4 p.m. So, she would eat M&Ms and enjoy a cup of coffee. For the lighter moments on set, she recalled having "good laughs" before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, during the pandemic, they panicked, but she and Morgan still managed to laugh over things she couldn't really remember.

Morgan also shared his experience working with Bullock for the movie. "It was like I was getting my a-- whooped by Serena Williams playing tennis and I was trying to keep up. And I was like, 'Gasp, gasp, gasp,'" he said.

Bullock also produced the movie. According to her, she begged Viola Davis to take on a role in the film and she had no problem begging. Bullock's effort paid off because the "How to Get Away with Murder" star is part of the cast.

"Everybody came with such power. It was incredible," she added.

"The Unforgivable" hits theaters on Nov. 24 and debuts on Netflix on Dec. 10.
