  • "Bullet Train" will be Pitt and Bullock's first film together

Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock are giving "Bullet Train" some serious star power. The two Hollywood superstars were spotted on the set of their first film together this week in Los Angeles.

Pitt's action movie "Bullet Train" will be literally explosive based on new set photos obtained by Page Six, which showed him and Bullock walking by a dumpster on fire while shooting a crash scene.

In one image, Pitt's white shirt is covered with dirt and fake blood. The actor also looks bruised and battered. Meanwhile, Bullock, who sports a white button-up shirt and trench coat, appears clean, unharmed and undamaged in the snap.

In between scenes, the veteran actors made sure to follow COVID-19 pandemic protocols by wearing face shields.

Pitt was also photographed filming a scene with another co-star, Joey King. The "Kissing Booth" actress sported a pink top and a red skater skirt on set. She also had a fake blood on her face.

"Bullet Train" follows several assassins with conflicting motives aboard a fast-moving train in Tokyo. They have different missions that may end up connecting them to each other. According to reports, King's character would attempt to kill Pitt's.

King shared some details about her upcoming movie with Pitt during a recent interview with InStyle. The actress said she was thankful that she is working amid the pandemic, but the set feels different due to the restrictions.

"The feeling of being on a set, the feeling of meeting all those new people, hugging on them, loving them, and just creating this family — it's not there," she told InStyle. "And we have to stay in our pods and I can't interact with people that I want. I want to meet everybody. I want to know everyone's name, but I can't leave my pod."

When asked if she wanted to hug Pitt, King said with a laugh, "I want to hug Brad Pitt."

"Bullet Train" is a film based on the Japanese novel "Maria Beetle" by best-selling author Kōtarō Isaka. It is directed by David Leitch with Zak Olkewitcz writing the script. It also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Zazie Beetz, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Masi Oka and two-time Oscar nominee Michael Shannon.

Lady Gaga has also signed on to join Pitt, King and Bullock in the upcoming film. However, it remains unclear what role she will be playing, Collider reported
