Sharon Osbourne’s controversial exit from “The Talk” in 2021 lead to frightening moments in her personal life and took a major toll on her career. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the television personality revealed she began receiving death threats after she was fired from “The Talk” over a conversation about racism.

Osbourne, 69, who gained fame on the MTV reality show "The Osbournes" with her rock-legend husband Ozzy Osbourne, said she had to hire around-the-clock security for protection following her exit.

“[People] were saying they were going to come in the night, cut my throat, cut Ozzy’s throat, cut my dogs’ throats. … I just couldn’t stop crying because all I was thinking about was all the things that I’ve gone through in my life, and now they’re calling me a racist. This is insanity,” she said.

During a March 2021 episode of “The Talk,” Sharon Osbourne defended her friend Piers Morgan’s comment about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s accusations of racist behavior among members of the royal family.

The defense of Morgan led her co-host, Sheryl Underwood, to suggest Osbourne was validating the former CNN host's controversial remarks.

After she was fired from "The Talk," Sharon Osbourne revealed her television career in the U.S. was essentially over.

“My phone as far as my TV career [in the U.S. was concerned] was nonexistent, not one call. Nothing,” she said. “In England and Australia, it never changed. Here it was like I was dead.”

Since exiting the show, Sharon Osbourne admitted she had a “horrendous” plastic surgery experience that left her face looking like “Cyclops.” She went under the knife in October for a full facelift.

Sharon Osbourne confronted her doctor over the botched surgery, while Ozzy Osbourne, offered to cover the cost to fix the error. Sharon Osbourne revealed her face is “settling now,” and she is satisfied with the procedure.

Last month, Sharon Osbourne announced she would be returning to television alongside Morgan in a new show on TalkTV.
