Shay Carl Butler made a return to YouTube, but not in the way his loyal subscribers would expect. After taking an indefinite leave from his Shaytards family vlogs, Shay and his wife, Colette Butler, appeared in their longtime friend and fellow vloggers wedding video this past weekend.

Acting as a groomsmen in CTFxC vlogger Charles Trippy’s wedding to Allie Wesenberg, Shay appeared in two videos on Charles’ channel. After first popping up in Charles and Ali’s rehearsal dinner, Shay and Colette went on to show up again in their wedding day video, “WE ARE MARRIED!!,” and Shaytards fans immediately took notice.

Colette previously returned to YouTube earlier this month in her sister-in-law’s family vlog.

Shay did not address his absence from YouTube in either video. Last month, he revealed on Twitter that he had been struggling with alcoholism and would be taking a break from the internet to seek treatment.

“I thought I was able to escape addiction & it’s associated demons, but that disease has manifested itself back into my life (due to my decisions) because it is a life long disease,” he wrote. “I have a problem. This problem has hurt the ones I love most because I delayed the decision to get help. My wife, friends and family are by my side. My purpose is to rehab. It’s my only priority. I will not be on the internet.”

Shay has since deactivated his Twitter account and privated his Instagram page. He has not posted a new video to the Shaytards channel since Feb. 10.

One day prior to his statement, cam girl Aria Nina revealed sexual messages she and Shay allegedly shared over the course of three months. Aria told YouTuber Keemstar she decided to expose their messages after Shay was rude to her. She has denied wanting fame from the incident.
