The Shiba Inu development team, headed by the lead developer Shytoshi Kusama, is seemingly preparing for the next phase of "SHIB: The Metaverse" following a series of announcements.

The Bid Event, a part of the first phase of "SHIB: The Metaverse," started in April and after the land sale, the development team is set to commence the development of the metaverse's platform. Over the past week, Shiba Inu has added two industry veterans to its team developing "SHIB: The Metaverse."

Marcie Jastrow and Sherri Cuono will head the creative and technical team of the metaverse project. With their knowledge and expertise in technology and immersive environment, the team is now poised to proceed to the core development of "SHIB: The Metaverse."

A recent blog from the dev team detailed that the upcoming metaverse will utilize the entire Shiba ecosystem tech core structure. The community is still waiting to finalize the deal between an AAA gaming studio and "SHIB: The Metaverse" team, which is believed to be a major event.

Should the deal come through, the gaming studio will handle the artistic development of the project, while the Shiba Inu dev team will focus on the aspects concerning the project's blockchain implementation. The metaverse is Kusama's brainchild and is supported by the entire dev team and the Shib Army.

It is the culmination of Shiba Inu's history visually displayed. The team describes the metaverse as a "massive environment for the #ShibArmy to grow, share, and benefit together. The community will have a great deal of interaction, future choices, and creative ways to immerse themselves in this environment."

Over the first two stages of the land sale, the team recorded more than 3,000 new landlords and around 12,975 plots mined. "SHIB: The Metaverse is an active project with realistic plans for SHIB's future.

Initially, when only ETH was supported, the team said that all funds collected from the land sale would be used for the development of the metaverse. It is unclear if this is still the case since the team has now included SHIB as a payment method in "SHIB: The Metaverse."

The community is still waiting for official announcements from the team, but it looks like with industry veterans now on board, "SHIB: The Metaverse" is now moving forward to its next phase. SHIB was trading down 7.02% at $0.00001081, with a 24-hour volume of $429,658,710, as of 11:53 p.m. ET on Wednesday, based on the data from CoinMarketCap.
