  • Kusama says there will be a special day for "Shiba Eternity"
  • The CCG title is now available for testing in Vietnam
  • SHIB was trading up 0.95% at $0.0000162

"Shiba Eternity," the upcoming collectible card game (CCG) title, got explosive updates from Shiba Inu pseudonymous lead developer Shytoshi Kusama and Shiba Inu Game alpha director William Volk.

"Shiba Eternity" got a phenomenal reception for its early test version, which was rolled out exclusively in Vietnam a few days ago. But the surprises are not over yet, since the people behind the game have a lot more to offer regarding the CCG.

Following its release, Volk dropped an update about the game, suggesting it was well-received in Vietnam. To prove a point, the Shiba Inu Game alpha director shared Tuesday the team has to amp the gameplay server capacity to accommodate early test players.

"Wow, we had to increase the gameplay server capacity FIFTY-FOLD to deal with the players coming in from the Vietnam test launch," the tweet by Volk read.

It is unknown how many gameplay servers were launched for the test, but increasing it by 50 times just to meet the demand of a single country or region spoke volumes of "Shiba Eternity's" popularity.

While Volk offered an update on the gameplay servers, Kusama shared a major detail about the game. A post by Twitter handle Champagne Air showed a screenshot of a Discord conversation with Kusama's response to a certain question, most likely about the release date of "Shiba Eternity."

"We're planning a DOWNLOAD DAY and will ask EVERYONE to dl (download) the game. Even if they never spend a dime," the screenshot showed. Unfortunately, that is all there is in the screenshot and release date details are still unavailable.

The lead developer seemed to be in high spirits, and even responded to some followers, who have no idea about the game. Responding to a tweet, which has since been deleted, the pseudonymous lead developer clarified "Shiba Eternity" is not a blockchain game but a mobile game, which means it is available for download at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

In the same tweet, Kusama also called out those who underestimated Shiba Inu, noting that, like others, they too, will acknowledge that SHIB is not a meme coin.

"Sad response from someone that is ill-informed. #SHIBAETERNITY is for the app stores and not our blockchain game... and like others who underestimated us, you too will learn that we are not a meme. Either way, YOU CAN PET THE DOG in our game," Kusama's tweet read.

"Shiba Eternity" was announced in December 2021, and was developed by the renowned Australian gaming studio PlaySide Studios, along with the counsel of industry veteran and former Activision VP William Volk. Kusama confirmed they wrote the game's narrative, which transcends to Shibarium, "Shib: The Metaverse," and to Shiba Inu partnerships.

The game was announced on Aug. 1 with the early test version exclusive to Vietnam starting on Aug. 10 for iOS users. At the time, Kusama noted since the game is in its early testing phase, players might encounter glitches, and added the team was still "fixing some bugs including unrated matches for ShibaEternity."

"Shiba Eternity" is set to be officially released worldwide sometime this year with Kusama noting that it will arrive before the launch of the layer-2 solution Shibarium. As of 2.47 a.m. ET, SHIB the native token of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, was trading up 0.95% at $0.0000162 with a 24-hour volume of $1,137,323,136, based on the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
