Emma Thompson hosted “Saturday Night Live” on May 11, and she starred in all the best sketches from an overall lackluster episode. Check out the best ‘SNL’ skits from last night below:

Monologue — Amy Poehler and Tina Fey (who star in Netflix’s just-released “Wine Country”) joined Thompson for her opening monologue. The ladies gave the audience some mom translations. When a mom says that on Mother’s Day she wants “just to relax in the yard, maybe a massage,” what she really means is, “How does one buy weed?”

The Perfect Mother — This “SNL” sketch shows Heidi Gardner as a stressed-out new mother (Thompson) who remembers her own mom handling everything with grace. Thompson flashes back to what life was actually like, and it wasn’t as easy as her daughter recalls. It’s not quite as funny as Amy Schumer’s Mother's Day sketch from last year, which follows a very similar idea, but it’s still laugh-worthy.

Beauty and the Beast — Thompson reprises her role as Mrs. Potts in this Disney parody. When the exercise equipment from the secret gym wander upstairs, Belle (Cecily Strong) realizes that the Beast (Beck Bennett) might not be Prince Charming. He’s been keeping the living gym equipment locked in the basement with photos of a teenage Britney Spears, and he had an affair with Mrs. Potts that resulted in a child (Pete Davidson).

Judge Court — Thompson, Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon play TV judges. They preside over one courtroom together, seem entirely co-dependent and might not actually understand the law. “Don’t worry, what these ladies lack in understanding of the law, they make up for in catchphrases,” the narrator says. Their final case shows the Jonas Brothers (the musical guests on this week’s “SNL”) apologizing for burning down someone’s house, and the judges decide that they’re going to adopt the boys and take them to dinner.

“Saturday Night Live” will return for the Season 44 finale on May 18. Paul Rudd will host while DJ Khaled serves as musical guest.
