Stephen "tWitch" Boss has died by apparent suicide at the age of 40. Boss was popularly known for co-hosting "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and was also a choreographer and DJ. Many celebrities reacted to Boss' death Wednesday.

Ellen DeGeneres mourned Boss' death on Twitter by sharing a picture of them hugging. "I'm heartbroken," she wrote alongside the photo. "tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him."

She added, "Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children - Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia."

Former "So You Think You Can Dance" judge Nigel Lythgoe, 73, released a statement saying that Boss' death was "unimaginable."

Lythgoe also reflected on the DJ's mental health, stating, "Did he really have no one to talk with that could help him to unload some of his issues? How sad, how very sad. Mental health is a real issue that is often hidden from us," People reported.

Snoop Dogg shared a dancing video of him and Boss, when the rapper visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The 51-year-old rapper wrote, "R. I. P. Twitch. Save a dance for me."

"The Woman King" star Viola Davis shared a photo of Boss on Instagram and wrote, "THIS is heartbreaking. All of how and who we are cannot be seen. I am praying for his family and all of us who loved him."

Jada Pinkett Smith shared a photo on Instagram in which she posed with Boss and Trey Smith. The 51-year-old actress shared her condolences to Boss' family and friends. She recalled having "good times" on the set of "Magic Mike."

"He was so sweet, kind and generous. So many people suffer in silence. I wish he could have known that he didn't have to," she said, adding, "May his beautiful, shining soul rest in the arms of the Great Supreme and may that same Higher Power heal the shattered hearts of his loved ones."

"Modern Family" star Julie Bowen also shared a throwback photo on Instagram from her visit to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

"It's terrible to think he was suffering inside. Tell somebody you love them today," she wrote alongside the snap.

Many more celebs, including Leah Remini, Zendaya, Lori Harvey and Yara Shahidi shared Boss' photo on their Instagram accounts.

Boss' wife, Allison Holker Boss confirmed the DJ's death news Tuesday. An autopsy has been scheduled. Boss is survived by his wife and three children: Zaia, 3, Maddox, 6, and Weslie, 14.
