  • Microsoft and Sony have not yet revealed the price, pre-order details and specific release date of their upcoming gaming consoles
  • Several sources now claim that Sony might announce these much-awaited PS5 details next week
  • An industry insider confirmed that PS5 pre-order would begin in July 2020

According to separate industry sources, the PS5 price, release date and pre-order details would be revealed by Sony a few days from now. A recent online survey conducted by a reputable marketing compatible seemingly hinted the price range of the PS5. Meanwhile, an industry tipster mentioned that the PS5 pre-order is happening this month.

Jeff Grubb of Venture Beat recently shared on his official Twitter account the schedule of the gaming industry’s activities for July and August. Business Analyst Roberto Serrano responded to Grubb’s tweet, saying that July 13 is the date for the announcement of the PS5’s price, pre-order details and release date. Serrano, however, noted that this set of information is yet to be confirmed.

When asked by a Twitter user for the source of his information, the business analyst answered that he has sources within the entertainment industry. Serrano is not the only one claiming that Sony would finally reveal the much-awaited secrets of the PS5. On Monday, reliable industry insider IronManPS5 shared that Sony’s next-generation gaming console would be available for pre-order this month.

Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal any other details including the specific date of when this would happen. IronManPS5 is a frequent PS leaker and has been referenced in many PS5 reports. Apart from these two, an online survey conducted by Nielsen was leaked on Reddit, which, according to some fans, could indicate the official price of the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition.

Others think that the prices suggested in the survey are too good to be true. Interestingly, according to the Reddit user who shared the survey, based on experience, survey prices usually come out 20 percent higher when the products are released in the market. Like Sony, Microsoft is also mum on the price, pre-order details, and release date of the Xbox Series X. The company has not also made any comment about the heavily rumored Xbox Series S, which could be the competitor of the PS5 Digital Edition.

It is worth mentioning that while these details are exciting, they are not official. Take this information with a good measure of salt.
