Did Chris Brown get cold feet over a boxing match with Soulja Boy? Well, that’s what Soulja Boy seemed to imply in a series of messages he posted on Twitter on Sunday. According to the former “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star, Brown was too scared to fight him and refused to sign a contract to go against him.

The two music artists’ beef on social media started after Soulja Boy liked and commented on an Instagram photo posted by Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran. According to New York Daily News, they announced in January that they were going to settle their feud in a boxing match. Soulja Boy was reportedly trained by Evander Holyfield, while Brown asked for Mike Tyson’s help.

Unfortunately, the highly anticipated match won’t push through as Brown refused to sign the contract. Billboard reported that Brown doesn’t want to fight Soulja Boy anymore, and the “Crank Dat” rapper said their beef was over. However, he told his Twitter followers to still go after Brown.

Soulja Boy tweeted that Brown’s manager called him the night before and said that the deal was off.

Aside from the beef, he will be dropping his new “Big Soulja” mixtape on Sunday night. The mixtape will be released a couple of weeks after the 26-year-old Atlanta rapper released a video game called “Beef With Soulja?” As per XXL magazine, the game was inspired by all of Soulja Boy’s recent feuds.

Soulja Boy is indeed one controversial music artist. Aside from several feuds, he also had a run-in with the authorities in January. Los Angeles Times revealed the rapper was charged with felony for the possession of an assault weapon, a Mini Draco AR-IS. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office also added that Soulja Boy was facing charges for violating his probation because of the possession of a firearm for the .45-caliber Glock 21.

Soulja Boy, however, pleaded not guilty in the Los Angeles County Superior Court last month. But if he was convicted, he would be facing more than four years in prison.
