After almost two years, the "Stranger Things" Season 3 premiere is almost upon us. In less than one month, fans of the Netflix original series will find out what happens to their favorite Hawkins characters.

The first season of "Stranger Things" premiered on Netflix in July 2016 while the second season was released in October 2017. The show seemed to keep a steady pace (about a year and a half) between seasons, but the wait for the third season seemed long for some fans. Netflix VP of Original Content, Cindy Holland, took the time to address the lag time on Season 3.

Holland explained to Deadline last summer that the team behind "Stranger Things," creators and executive producers the Duffer brothers, along with director and executive producer Shawn Levy, "want to deliver something bigger and better" than what they did in the second season and wanted "to take the time to get it right." She added that there will be "more special effects" and Season 3 will "be a really exciting season."

Here are some details about the upcoming third season of "Stranger Things":

Release Date: Netflix confirmed earlier this year the original series will return July 4, 2019, also known as, Independence day in the U.S. The poster for Season 3 features all the main characters marveling at fireworks with what looks like a fair taking place in the distance. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) are holding hands and the phrase "One summer can change everything," is written above it all.

Episode Titles: According to Thrillist, "Stranger Things" Season 3 will have a total of eight episodes. They are “Suzie, Do You Copy?,” “The Mall Rats,” “The Case of the Missing Lifeguard,” “The Sauna Test,” “The Source,” “The Birthday,” “The Bite,” and “The Battle of Starcourt.” None of the titles seem to give too much away.

When And Where The Season Will Take Place: "Stranger Things" Season 3 jumps ahead at least one year from when fans last saw the gang. This is mainly due to an effort to keep up with the growing child actors. The director told Collider, “Let’s not embarrass ourselves or the audience by pretending these are kids, they're teenagers now.”

As for where the season will take place, Thrillist makes note that "the saga would get too insane and unbelievable if it just stayed in one place forever." Fans can and should expect to see the story venturing outside of Hawkins.

What To Expect: While the parties involved with "Stranger Things" are careful not to spill much, Sadie Sink, who plays Max, gave some insight to Season 3 during her interview with Elle.

The outlet wrote that Sink "is happy to report that her character and Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven have 'worked things out,' and that the whole crew will be dealing with 'more normal teenage stuff, not just fighting demogorgons all the time,'" before adding, "It’s nice to have that balance."
