“Strictly Come Dancing” cast member Joe Sugg recently revealed his surprising connection with two members of the royal family.

In a video uploaded online, Sugg confirmed that he met Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles a few months ago.

“A couple of weeks ago, I went back to go and visit my uncle and my aunty. And my uncle is the guy who taught me everything I know about roof thatching. Part of me really wanted to know if I could still remember how to do it. Then, bizarrely, an email from Clarence House slash the Prince’s Foundation [for Building Community] – and if you don’t know what that is, the Prince Foundation is a foundation set up by the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles,” he said (via Express).

Sugg added that the royal couple wanted to meet him during their royal visit in London, and he agreed.

“It was so nice to meet him and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. They were both really lovely,” he gushed.

In related news, Prince Charles and Bowles also made headlines this week after the real reason why Queen Elizabeth II skipped their civil wedding ceremony in 2005 was revealed.

A source told The Telegraph, “The Queen feels she has to put her role with the church before her role as a mother. The Queen takes her position as Supreme Governor of the Church of England incredibly seriously. She also has great personal faith.”

This meant that her role in the church was not compatible with Prince Charles and Bowles’ choice to wed in a civil ceremony.

Prince Charles and Bowles’ nuptials came years after the two rekindled their romance. The future king was still married to Princess Diana when he started having an affair with his ex-girlfriend, Bowles. Years after Princess Diana died in 1997, Prince Charles and Bowles finally tied the knot.
