As “Super Mario Bros.” prepares to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the milestone game, Nintendo is giving children of the 1980s a throwback that they never expected.

A new Nintendo Direct announcing several things to celebrate “Super Mario Bros.” came with a surprise: “Super Mario Bros.” will be playable on a Game & Watch system this coming November, Polygon reports.

The original Game & Watch device came out in Japan in 1980 and was the first handheld gaming system created by Nintendo. Now you can get your hands on a new piece of history with a special Game & Watch that includes the original “Super Mario Bros.” game, a digital clock, and more.

“Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch” will allow gamers to also play “Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels,” use a Mario-themed clock mode to tell time, or to relive a classic on the system, “Ball” but now with Mario right in the center of it.

Scheduled for a Nov. 13 release, Nintendo says there will be “35 little touches to discover” on this Game & Watch in celebration of the 35th anniversary of “Super Mario Bros.” You will be able to jump over bottomless pits, stomp Goombas, and enter warp pipes with the same tight controls you remember from the 80s as you play solo or pass to a friend for two-player fun.

The unit itself has been upgraded to include a cross-shaped control panel for directional ease as well as a full-color liquid crystal display to make NES and Family Computer classics look significantly better than the original Game & Watch games.

It will come with a 30cm. USB Cable type C-A, a weight of .15lbs., an internal lithium-ion battery, and measuring 67mm. in height, 112mm. in length, and 12.5mm. in depth. Playing time will be for approximately eight hours with a charging time of about 3.5 hours.

For people who remember the classic plastic Game & Watch units, aside from the cross-shaped control panel and the upgraded LCD screen, the familiar A and B buttons are still there, as well as a Pause button to allow you to pause the game, adjust volume or brightness, or set the time.

An original “Super Mario Bros.” cartridge recently sold for an amazing $114,000 at an auction but you won’t need to spend that much to play the game this time around. Nintendo will manufacture and sell a limited number of “Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch” systems this November for $49.99.
