To run Super Mario Run you will need to use an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad that's running iOS 8 or later. Super Mario Run will not work if you are using a version older than iOS 8. The initial version of Super Mario Run is free, but to play the full game the price is $9.99. While that may be steep for a mobile game, Nintendo promises that is a one-time fee even if future levels are added.

Super Mario Run levels and courses include three game modes: World Tour, Toad Rally and Kingdom Builder. According to Nintendo, World Tour features six worlds with 24 courses in all. If you collect enough rally tickets you can play Toad Rally, which lets you compete against other players to achieve the highest score. Kingdom builder puts the creative controls of Super Mario Run in your hands as you'll be able to "Create your unique kingdom with buildings and decorations that you acquire with the help of Toads gathered in Toad Rally.

Super Mario Run , unfortunately for those wanting to play during their subway commute, requires internet connectivity. It also requires at least 370MB in storage to download Super Mario Run .

Nintendo surprisingly announced Super Mario Run in September during Apple’s iPhone event.

“We have created Super Mario Run to be perfect for playing on your iPhone,” Mario creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, said when the Nintendo game was announced in September. “Super Mario has evolved whenever he has encountered a new platform, and for the first time ever, players will be able to enjoy a full-fledged Super Mario game with just one hand, giving them the freedom to play while riding the subway or my favorite, eating a hamburger.”

While the Super Mario Run is an iPhone/iOS exclusive for now, Nintendo’s first mobile game should be available for Android sometime in the not too distant future.
