While Lena Luthor is tired of Morgan Edge messing with her business, “Supergirl” star Katie McGrath is actually having a lot of fun playing Lena’s rivalry with Adrian Pasdar’s ruthless real estate developer.

“It’s actually something I’m really enjoying,” McGrath told ComicBook.com when asked about Lena and Morgan’s antagonistic relationship in the CW series. “Morgan is somebody within the business world that they’re two very similar people. So they can have that kind of interaction and that kind of antagonism. So as this goes on, she’s sort of dealing with somebody who’s on the same level as her within sort of the professional life. Somebody's who's running their own company and somebody's who's as powerful as she is and as capable as she is in those situations. So it’s an interesting dynamic in that situation.”

McGrath added that Lena and Morgan’s difference in age and gender also make the dynamic between them more fun. “You’ve got the fun dynamic of him being a man and her being a woman.” McGrath said. “And her being younger and more capable than him, and him not being able to deal with that.”

Although Morgan has put the people of National City in grave danger a couple of times, the twisted businessman is more of a villain to Lena than to Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). “Adrian Pasdar joins the show as Morgan Edge, and as much as he’s a nemesis for Supergirl, his real nemesis is Lena,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told TVLine last October. “He hates Lena Luthor, and he’s sort of out to get her. You kind of wonder how far Lena can be pushed, and what point will she cross the line to do what she thinks is right.”

After making his first appearance in Season 3, episode 1 — in which he employed the services of a madman to blow up the National City’s waterfront with an underwater nuke — Morgan returned in Season 3, episode 5, where he named Lena to be responsible for the lead poisoning of multiple children.

Morgan is set to return for Season 3, episode 9, in which the tension between him and Lena continues to build, causing James (Mehcad Brooks) to step in and offer up some protection, and possibly igniting a spark with the L-Corp CEO in the process.

“Supergirl” Season 3 airs Monday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
