Kara (Melissa Benoist) needs to take down a “parasite alien” in next week’s episode of “Supergirl.”

In the trailer for Season 2, episode 6, titled “Changing,” Kara is seen preparing to attack a giant monstrous alien. While the origin of the alien is unclear, the preview clip seems to suggest that the alien is actually a human who is infected by a mysterious parasite.

Although not confirmed, ComingSoon.net reported that the alien is actually Parasite — one of the major enemies of Superman in the comics. Just like in DC lore, the show’s version of Parasite feeds on energy by hungrily absorbing it into his body, draining all living creatures into husks at his touch.

According to the synopsis for the episode, James (Mehcad Brooks) debuts as the Guardian and helps take down the alien after it drains Supergirl’s powers. The synopsis also revealed that Mon-El (Chris Wood) is going to consider a shady new career in the episode, which then leads him to contemplate his motives.

In Season 2, episode 5, Mon-El, a.k.a. Mike Matthews, got a job as an intern at CatCo Worldwide Media with the help of Kara. He, however, was axed on his first day at work because he’s clearly not cut out for the job.

Kara was disappointed with Mon-El’s poor performance at work, but after her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), made her realize that she and Mon-El are different from one another — despite the fact that they are both alien refugees — Kara apologized to Mon-El and let him choose whatever job he wants to have.

At the end of the episode, Kara handed him a guide to National City that can help him in his job hunting. The Daxamite gave the booklet a quick browse and got curious about what a strip club is. Will Mon-El apply to become a stripper in episode 6? Only time will tell.

In the upcoming episode, Alex also continues to struggle with her realization about her sexuality. It seems, however, that things are about to get better for Alex as executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed to E! News that she will finally come out as gay to Kara next episode.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kreisberg said that the Girl of Steel has an “interesting” reaction to Alex’s coming out. “She is obviously going to be extremely open to it,” the exec producer said. “[But] she feels a little sad … because she feels like so much of the sisters’ lives have been about her. … She feels like she created an environment in which Alex never felt comfortable discussing this stuff, so she laments that. She also says to Alex … that she understands what it’s like to turn off a part of yourself to go along and get along. It only makes the sisters closer.”

“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 6 airs on Monday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
