Mon-El and Saturn Girl’s marriage may not be as picture-perfect as it seems.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, “Supergirl” actress Amy Jackson said that more details about Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Saturn Girl’s (Jackson) relationship will be revealed soon. And while everything between the two seems fine, Jackson teased that Mon-El and Saturn Girl’s romance might be more than meets the eye.

“In the next episodes, more will unravel,” Jackson said of Mon-El and Saturn Girl’s backstory. “Obviously, I can’t reveal too much, but there is a twist and turn in the plot for sure.”

While viewers have to wait and see what exactly that twist is, some fans think that the upcoming reveal will lead to a romantic reconciliation between Mon-El and Kara (Melissa Benoist).

This isn’t the first time Jackson has hinted at a twist on the love triangle between Saturn Girl, Mon-El and Kara. During her appearance on BBC Radio 1xtra last month, the actress admitted that some fans weren’t thrilled with the revelation that Mon-El and Saturn Girl are married. “They’re not too keen on the storyline, what’s happening on ‘Supergirl’ right now,” the actress said of ‘Karamel’ shippers at the time. “But it’s to be continued. Wait until January and they’ll see what can happen.”

In the event Kara and Mon-El actually end up getting back together, it seems that Jackson will be totally fine with it. “Can I be honest? I watched ‘Supergirl’ prior to being cast on the show, and I was a ‘Karamel’ fan,” the 25-year-old British actress told Variety earlier this week. “I would love to see them together.”

Although a possible breakup between Mon-El and Saturn Girl may diminish the latter’s significance on the show, Jackson said that there’s more to Saturn Girl, aka Imra Ardeen, than being Mon-El’s wife. “She’s not just someone’s wife, she’s one of the founding members of the Legion of Super-Heroes,” Jackson told TVLine of her character. “She’s kind, she’s an idealist — and she’s powerful.”

“Because Imra is such a genuinely nice character, it’s impossible not to like her,” Jackson added. “She’s so much more than her relationship. She’s a really strong, powerful character.”
