KEY POINTS

  • Expectations are high for “Supernatural” Season 15 ending

  • Season 5 finale was one of the best on the show

  • The TV series will return in 2020

“Supernatural” Season 15 will mark the end of the long running TV series, and the expectations are high on the finale. The show has already set up an ending that the plot is racing towards, but will it be satisfying enough for the fans?

According to a theory by Screen Rant, the episode that the upcoming finale will have to beat is “Swan Song” from Season 5. This is the episode in which Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) had to make a heart-breaking decision that forced Lucifer back into his cage.

When the producers first came up with the idea for the show, they never knew how long it will last. Eric Krikpe was the showrunner until “Swan Song” and that was the high point for the show, with subsequent episodes not generating the same level of excitement. Will the show change it’s perception with the upcoming finale episode?

In a way, “Supernatural” Season 15 has already done many things to leave the fans satisfied. Many of the cast members from the previous years were brought back for short cameos to give everyone a proper send-off. As far as the plot is concerned, it is heading towards a bigger conclusion than “Swan Song.”

In the Season 5 finale, although the Winchester brothers saved the world, they got very little recognition for all their hard work and sacrifices. Over the years, Sam and Dean have made many friends who will not only recognize their efforts but also help them. Many characters have been featured on the show, but according to Screen Rant some of the characters who were underused were Donna, Eileen, Charlie, and Gabriel.

The ending this year be grander because the show may end with the brothers making the world a better place. It remains to be seen how the show will end. If the brothers manage to survive, they will continue hunting demons. If they die, the show will have an emotional ending.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced most of the TV shows release dates to be postponed to 2021. However, “Supernatural” Season 15 will be returning sometime later in 2020, Entertainment Weekly reported.
