  • Netizens attacked Cruz for his tweets, fat-shaming him and questioning his credibility and intellect

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tx., has invited the wrath of a section of Twitter users for the attacks he made against Joe Biden Sunday, particularly when he blamed the president for the inflation in one of his tweets.

In response, some of the president's defenders resorted to fat-shaming Cruz and questioning his credibility and intellect. There were also those who blamed the senator for insurrection in the trolling comments.

Interestingly, the back-and-forth between Cruz and Democrat supporters is a common occurrence whenever the senator attempts to wage a GOP-Dems war.

The latest Twitter war began when Cruz shared a link to his podcast episode, noting, "When the commander in chief is weak, that's BAD for America. Unfortunately, Joe Biden is the weakest commander in chief our country has ever seen. He's a laughingstock. #Verdict"

"President Biden 🤝 8.2% inflation," Cruz tweeted hours later.

"Ask yourself this simple question: Is your family better off now than they were when Joe Biden became president? The answer is HELL NO for millions of Americans. #Verdict," his follow-up tweet read.

"If Joe Biden and Kamala Harris get their way, gas won't just be $4 or $5 a gallon, it's gonna be $10 then $12 then $20 a gallon. Don't miss my breakdown of why energy prices are so high with @benfergusonshow. #Verdict," he later wrote in another tweet.

Cruz also joked about the president being "off his meds" after the latter warned that inflation would be worse under the GOP regime.

Cruz's detractors then banded together against him for his vitriolic attacks on the president and Democrats, with someone even talking about how he looked in an old photo.

"I think Senator Cruz looked pretty inflated in the shameful Cancun return," a netizen wrote, quote-tweeting the senator and sharing a photo of him returning from a Cancun trip he made when Texas was hit by the historic winter storm in February 2021.

"Senator Cruz 🎈 8.2 more inches around the waist over the weekend," another tweet read.

"Senator Ted Cruz = Violent Insurrection," opined another individual, while another person quipped, "Senator Cruz, 100% moronic."

Apart from constant online heat, public figures have lashed out at Cruz on many occasions. Country singer Kacey Musgraves, for instance, called him out mid-performance.

Musgraves was performing her hit "High Horse" when she talked about the senator, saying, "Cause everyone knows someone who kills the buzz, every time they open their mouth — Ted Cruz."

The conservative firebrand was compared to Lucifer by former House Speaker John Boehner in 2016. His remark caused havoc within the Satanic Temple to the point that it released a statement urging people to refrain from drawing comparisons.

"Cruz' failures of reason, compassion, decency and humanity are products of his Christian pandering, if not an actual Christian faith," Lucien Greaves, founder of the Satanic Temple, said about Boehmer's "Lucifer in the flesh" comment that was directed at Cruz, according to Esquire.

"It grows tedious when pedophile priests and loathsome politicians are conveniently dismissed as Satanic, even as they spew biblical verse and prostrate themselves before the cross, recruiting the Christian faithful. Satanists will have nothing to do with any of them," Greaves added.
