Mark Wahlberg is the highest-paid actor in 2017.

Forbes has released the list of the highest-paid actors in 2017 and Wahlberg's name is on top. The "Ted" star made $68 million pretax in the 12-month scoring period, making him the most profitable actor this year.

Wahlberg's highest-ever payday was attributed to his big movie projects like "Transformers: The Last Knight" and the upcoming "Daddy's Home 2." The former, however, did not do well at the box office and only scored a 15 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was the lowest gross of the "Transformers" franchise to date. Nevertheless, the actor received a fixed compensation, so he was not affected by the film's performance. Last year, Wahlberg was in the third spot of the list.

On the other hand, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who was the highest-paid actor in 2016, is down to second place with $65 million. The "Fast and Furious" star earned $50 million more than last year for his performance in "Baywatch" and in the upcoming film "Jumanji." Similar to Wahlberg, Johnson's "Baywatch" failed to break records at the box office. But his account remained solid due to his starring role in HBO's "Ballers."

On the other hand, Vin Diesel made it into the third spot by making $54.5 million. The "Fast and Furious" star's earnings leaped by 55 percent from last year. His big paycheck from "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" and Marvel's hit sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" catapulted him to the third spot of this year's highest-paid actors. Last year, Diesel was in the eighth spot.

Rounding up the top five are Adam Sandler with $50.5 million and Jackie Chan with $49 million. Sandler is able to maintain his big paycheck with his lucrative deal with Netflix, where he produces his own movies. Meanwhile, Chan continues to make money in China.

Emma Stone who is rumored to be reuniting with ex Andrew Garfield is the highest-paid actress in 2017. Next to the "La La Land" actress is Jennifer Aniston in second place. Meanwhile, last year's highest-paid actress, Jennifer Lawrence, is down to the third spot. Rounding up the top five are Melissa McCarthy and Mila Kunis.
