A Tennessee woman has been arrested after she opened fire at her child's daycare center following an argument with an employee.

The incident took place at La Petite Academy in Raleigh on Tuesday. The mother, identified as Daija Taylor, got into an argument with an employee at the daycare about fees while picking her child up. The argument took a turn for the worse when Taylor fired a gun at the front window of the building, CBS-affiliated WREG-TV reported.

More than 60 children were inside the building at the time. No one was injured in the shooting.

The argument reportedly started after Taylor's family failed to comply with "attendance requirements," La Petite Academy said in a statement.

Memphis police told the television station that the suspect left the daycare after picking up her child and attempted to re-enter but found the door locked. She fired a single shot straight into the building.

Taylor was taken into custody Tuesday evening. She was facing charges including two counts of attempted first-degree murder and 63 counts of reckless endangerment and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Memphis police have also released a surveillance video of the incident. In the footage, Taylor can be seen recovering a gun from her vehicle parked near the daycare center and randomly opening fire into the building through a window.

Calling the incident an "unprecedented situation," Lydia Cisaruk, director of communication for La Petite Academy, said that they enforced additional security at the facility following the incident.

"Everyone is safe as the authorities are investigating an unprecedented situation early this afternoon involving a shot being fired into the front door. A parent became confrontational and verbally abusive during a discussion about her family not meeting attendance requirements to stay enrolled. Just after exiting the building, she came back and shot at the front door from the sidewalk. Thankfully no one was injured. Our staff immediately enacted our emergency protocols," Cisaruk said in a statement.

"We have resumed our regular activities after briefly sheltering in place. As an additional safeguard, we will have security personnel on-site until further notice. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our school community," Cisaruk added.
