There’s A Tesla Model S For Kids, A McLaren 720S Too

Radio Flyer, the 100 year-old American toy company that gave us the immortal “little red wagon” in 1917, gave today’s kids the upgraded version of this classic toy -- the Tesla Model S for Kids -- in 2016.

Now, the Tesla Model S for Kids, which was created in cooperation with Tesla Inc., has a new companion, a kid’s only McLaren 720S supercar.

Built for kiddie drivers 3 to 6 years old, this peewee supercar can speed along at a comfy and safe 3 mph. The mini McLaren has electronic engine sounds activated by the accelerator pedal, which the Tesla Model S for Kids doesn’t have.

Parents can also drive the mini McLaren via remote control, which is like having a pseudo-Autopilot mode.

The mini McLaren’s also got functioning brake lights, pedals, and working air vents. It also comes with two functioning dihedral doors with exposed carbon-style elements.

The dashboard has an infotainment screen that plays a preloaded selection of children’s songs. It can also show a movie by plugging a USB or SD card into built-in sockets.

Seven paint choices are available: Azores Orange, Belize Blue, Lantana Purple, Onyx Black, Mauvine Blue, Silica White, and Saros Grey.

On the other hand, the Tesla Model S for Kids is a battery powered ride-on car that comes equipped with high-end features to recreate the ultimate Tesla experience.

It’s powered by a Tesla-branded lithium ion battery pack. It also has a charger that resembles Tesla’s own Wall Connector, working headlights, and a functional “frunk” (front trunk) where kids can store their things.

It can do 6 mph max via a protected switch. It’s also got an MP3 sound system. This toy electric EV was designed for kids 3 to 8 years old and can tote 81 lbs. of passenger and cargo.

Just like the full size Tesla, a kiddie driver can choose the paint color, performance, accessories, and personalization.
