There have been many rumors about Scarlett Johansson and her boyfriend, Colin Jost, most of which were completely false. From reports about them getting married to them buying a condo in the Hamptons, here’s a list of five debunked rumors about the celebrity couple.

According to Gossip Cop, a rumor last month had suggested that Jost proposed to Johansson during the Thanksgiving holiday. The couple was supposedly planning a wedding as well. This report has been debunked as a Johansson’s rep has confirmed that the two celebrities aren’t engaged.

Another similar report in 2017 also suggested that Johansson was getting married to Jost soon. The couple, however, is currently enjoying their relationship and seems to be in no hurry to hear wedding bells just yet.

More recently, there was a rumor that claimed Johansson was nervous about spending the holidays with Jost’s parents. That report turned out to be false because the couple actually celebrated Christmas in Argentina with only each other for company.

Another false story about the celebrity couple stated that Johansson wanted Jost to leave “SNL” to spend more time with her. According to that false report, the actress wanted her boyfriend to accompany her while she traveled for work. “SNL” is filmed in New York City, where Johansson lives, so it seems unlikely that the actress made such a request. On top of that, the “Avengers” actress has partied with Jost’s “SNL” colleagues, so it doesn’t seem like she has any problems there.

Apart from the relationship issues that were falsely reported, there was one rumor about Johansson and Jost buying an $8 million condo in the Hamptons. The couple did go to the Hamptons, but the rep of the actress has confirmed that they went to a spa there to get a massage and didn’t look at any condos. Thus, the rumor about them going “house-hunting” is false.

While such rumors are relatively easy to debunk, there are other fakes on the internet that Johansson feels is a lost cause. In a recent interview with The Washington Post, the actress talked about “deepfakes” in the explicit content online. The phenomenon involves using computers to insert the face of a celebrity on an adult performer to make it seem very real. Johansson said that fighting this is a “useless pursuit” because it will be herculean task both legally and practically to take down all such content from the internet.

According to a report by The Mary Sue, Johansson has been fighting the good fight for years. She was among the celebrities who had their accounts hacked, and their nude pictures surfaced online.
