Russian forces have been resorting to "a totally insane approach" to recruit men to fight for them in the ongoing war in Ukraine, as Moscow is reportedly suffering defeats on the front lines.

According to Serhii Haidai, Head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, Russian occupiers are waiting outside of kindergartens in some Ukrainian cities to find "young parents," and make them join the fight. They are also offering food to elderly women in exchange for information on possible recruits.

"In the city of Luhansk, men have for a long time avoided going outside unless necessary. Many have left the city altogether and are lying low in villages," Haidai wrote on Telegram.

"The occupiers have recently started offering food to elderly women outside their homes in exchange for information about men. Now they've resorted to a totally insane approach: they're waiting [for men] near kindergartens. Just a few days ago they detained a young father in order to 'mobilize' him. They don't care that no one will be able to pick the kid up from the kindergarten in the evenings," as quoted by Pravda.

Russian forces are taking these extreme measures to replenish the ranks of their "army." Most of this is being done in the occupied territories of Luhansk Oblast.

"Forced mobilization continues apace in the occupied [of Luhansk Oblast]. [The Russians] are waiting on young parents outside of kindergartens. Over 10 Russian attacks have been repelled on the front," Haidai said.

Haidai also wrote about Moscow's several attack attempts on the administrative border between Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. On Wednesday, 11 such attempts were made in the region. They had reportedly used multiple-launch rocket systems and tubed artillery during these attacks.

However, Ukraine's Armed Forces repelled each of these attacks, which resulted in several losses for the Russian army and they were forced to retreat.

Meanwhile, there have also been reports about the Russian army offering money and citizenship to fighters in Central Asia, who are willing to fight in Ukraine.

"The number of Russian citizens who want to go to war in Ukraine is gradually decreasing. To at least partly preserve the opportunity to form new reserves, the Kremlin leadership is trying to more actively engage foreign citizens in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAF) said Wednesday.
