  • Jesse Lingard vouches for Jadon Sancho move to Old Trafford
  • Lingard holds an uncertain future with Manchester United due to his struggles
  • Sancho's move is still uncertain due to the stiff asking price from Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United remains in the race for Jadon Sancho despite looming financial uncertainties. One person who believes it would be a good move is Sancho's England teammate, Jesse Lingard. There is a chance that the two players could team up, though things are not looking that bright.

In a recent interview, Lingard called Sancho a brilliant player, having played with him in England. However, he admitted that a move to Old Trafford still depends on the 20-year-old player. If it pushes through, there is a chance that the two of them could team up. Unfortunately, the future of the 27-year-old player with United is not looking so good.

“Jadon is a brilliant player. It's obviously up to him,” Lingard told reporters (via Goal.com). “I’ve seen him with England, I’ve seen his qualities and I feel like he’d be a great addition to any team.”

Standing in the way of Sancho coming to Old Trafford is the transfer fee. Borussia Dortmund is seeking $141 million for the football player, an amount that could be too much for the Red Devils.

United had previously stated that it will not spend anything beyond $61 million for the English Winger. But Dortmund is standing pat on its asking price, and this lowers the chances of Sancho moving to Old Trafford.

If not the Red Devils, Sancho may consider other teams. A ballclub also interested in his services is Liverpool F.C. But like United, there is doubt as to whether The Reds can afford the 20-year-old football player.

Assuming that United can pull some strings, a reunion with Lingard would be grand. But the only problem is that the midfielder's future is uncertain at the moment. He has fallen down the ranks of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, starting only once since the football restart.

For the season, Lingard has started in only nine games for the Red Devils. But while he admits that things have not exactly panned out, he remains committed to working on his game.

“It’s been a lot different (this season). I know personally I’ve not been at it and I know what I needed to do to get that confidence back," Lingard said.

Though he has vowed to claw his way back and adapt to the United system, his future stint with the club raises several questions. Nothing has been officially mentioned, but there is a chance that he could be let go after this season.
