Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be looking at a possible career-changing transfer move away from Everton.

A fractured toe has forced Calvert-Lewin to miss most of Everton’s games this season. But this hasn’t put off clubs interested in signing him as they have already witnessed what the 24-year-old is capable of on the pitch, having finished as sixth top goalscorer in the English Premier League last season.

Arsenal has been heavily linked to a transfer swoop for Calvert-Lewin, but Newcastle United may also consider splurging on the prolific striker, who is likely to cost a lot, according to Newcastle World journalist Liam Kennedy.

"The one thing I would say about the [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin link - and I don't know the ins and outs of that deal to be brutally honest - is that the transfer fee could prove to be exorbitant unless there's some kind of caveat in his deal,” Kennedy told Give Me Sport.

"I'm not privy and I don't know the ins and outs of his contract situation,” he continued. "But what I would say is a lad who's basically the number two striker for England and scored good goals in the Premier League over the last couple of years would be somebody who would command quite a considerable fee in the current market."

As it stands, Calvert-Lewin still has four years left in his current Everton deal. This could put the Toffees in a good position should any club consider entering discussions for his potential transfer.

However, the player himself is not thinking about leaving Goodison Park at least “for now.”

"I am happy at Everton,” Calvert-Lewin told French outlet L’Equipe in June. "I worked hard to become number nine [striker] at this club and score goals like I did recently.”

“Personally, I have the ambition to one day play in the Champions League and win titles,” he admitted. "But for now, I'm happy at Everton."

Calvert-Lewin is becoming one of the most coveted players in the sport today. In fact, as early as now, Calvert-Lewin’s Everton teammate Richarlison has already compared him to Cristiano Ronaldo.

“[Calvert-Lewin] must be a nightmare to play against and he has an incredible leap on him like Cristiano Ronaldo,” Richarlison told FIFA.com last year.

Richarlison was later proven right as Calvert-Lewin himself recently admitted, "I have done, [studied Ronaldo], I think even now he's still playing in the Premier League, he was always someone I looked at, I ask myself 'how does he get himself in these positions' it always starts as I say 10 seconds before the goal.”
