Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly being forced to move from Buckingham Palace amid coronavirus outbreak.

New Idea reported that the Queen has been forced to move from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle as the U.K. works on eliminating the coronavirus problem. The publication also cited a claim from The Sun saying that the Queen will be quarantined at Sandringham with her husband Prince Philip if the situation becomes worse.

“She is in good health but it was thought best to move her. A lot of her staff are a bit panicky over coronavirus,” a source said.

“The Queen has met a lot of people there until recently. But she is weeks away from her 94th birthday and advisers believe it is best to get her out of harm’s way.”

However, one should take the report with a grain of salt. Daily Mail’s royal correspondent Rebecca English said that the report about the Queen leaving Buckingham Palace was not true.

In her piece a senior aide categorically denied the claims. “I fully expect the royal standard will be flying at Buckingham Palace tomorrow as it does usually,” the insider said.

Town & Country also confirmed that the Queen has returned to her official residence. Queen Elizabeth II arrived in Buckingham Palace on Monday afternoon after spending the weekend at Windsor Castle. The publication noted that per the Royal Standard, the flat that flies above the palace when the Queen is in her residence was raised replacing the Union Jack that is flown whenever she is away.

Although the Queen is doing business as usual, the palace announced earlier that they have to reschedule her engagements.

“As a sensible precaution and for practical reasons in the current circumstances, changes are being made to The Queen’s diary commitments in the coming weeks,” Buckingham Palace wrote.

“In consultation with the Medical Household and Government, Her Majesty’s forthcoming visits to Cheshire and Camden will be rescheduled. Audiences will continue as usual. Other events will be reviewed on an ongoing basis in line with the appropriate advice.”
