Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be spending summer with Queen Elizabeth II and Archie at Balmoral.

According to royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah of The Sunday Times, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have accepted Queen Elizabeth II’s invitation to spend their summer holidays with her in Balmoral. This time, the royal couple will reportedly bring their son Archie along.

Many were convinced that the Queen was sad when Prince Harry and Markle returned to the U.K. two weeks ago to carry out their last engagements sans Archie. Nikkhah said that Archie remained in Canada with his nanny and Markle’s best friend Jessica Mulroney. Sources claimed that the Queen was very disappointed with what Prince Harry and Markle did.

Royal commentator Richard Fritzwilliams also believed that it would have been better if Prince Harry and Markle returned to the U.K. with their child. Prince Harry’s grandparents are already in their 90s with Prince Philip turning 99 next month, so it would be a treat for them to see Archie. By failing to do so, Fritzwilliams felt that they failed to charm the Queen.

“His views may be from a different generation, but since he is 99 in June it would have been a charming gesture if Harry and Meghan had brought Archie to see him and the Queen, who, after all, is 94 in April,” Fitzwilliams said.

Nikkhah also noted that the Queen invited them last year but they declined. Sources said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted to not join the royals last summer because they felt that their son who was then 4 months old was too young for the trip. However, many weren’t convinced with their reason because they took Archie to Ibiza.

“Harry and Meghan had no plans to go to Balmoral this summer as they felt Archie was too young. It’s a bit odd, as his age didn’t stop them taking him to Ibiza for a week and then to see Elton John in France,” the source said. “She has never been to Balmoral and the Queen was disappointed they’re not going.”

The report of Prince Harry and Markle accepting the Queen’s Balmoral invitation came after reports that the monarch snubbed them during the Commonwealth Service. Queen Elizabeth II reportedly left the Sussexes “very upset” when she removed them from the main VIP party and had them make their own way to their seats and wait with Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
