Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux may have separated, but the rift in their marriage hasn’t had a negative impact on “The Leftovers” actor’s career. A new report claims the 47-year-old is asking for the “Friends” star’s forgiveness after being rejected by Hollywood.

After Aniston and Theroux announced their split earlier this year, the estranged couple reportedly cut off contact with one another. However, a source is alleging their distant relationship has caused the “Maniac” actor to lose out on potential roles.

Heat published a story claiming Aniston is unintentionally blackballing her estranged husband in Hollywood, which is making Theroux desperate to get back on her good side. “Justin has started to become desperate for peace talks between him and Jen, as he fears the walls are closing in on him in Hollywood thanks to her giving him the cold shoulder,” a “source” told the tabloid.

A supposed confidant implied Theroux’s career “is not where he wants it to be right now” and he believes “his frosty relationship with Jen,” is to blame. “She isn’t purposefully blackballing him, but the fact is, Jen has a lot of friends in this town and people talk. Justin can sense there are some doors being shut because it’s all connected to Jen’s clique.”

Despite the account from the alleged insider, a rep for Theroux told Gossip Cop the Heat article is “absurd” and made up. The fact-checking website also noted that Theroux recently shared there was “no animosity” between himself and Aniston following their split.

During a chat with The New York Times, Theroux admitted the break up with his estranged wife was “heartbreaking,” but revealed the two were able to have a “gentle” separation. “It’s more like, it’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be,” he explained.

Prior to his comments, Aniston also addressed bogus headlines suggesting she was torn up about her failed relationships. “It’s pretty crazy. The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I’m sad and heartbroken,” she shared in the September Issue of InStyle.

“First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me,” she added.

Despite fabricated reports about their relationship, Aniston and Theroux’s “amicable” decision to separate hasn’t had a negative impact on the actor’s career.
