Actress Jennifer Aniston has been romantically linked to a number of male celebrities in the past including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. Most recently a tabloid claimed that she tried to flirt with Jennifer Lopez’s boyfriend Alex Rodriguez – a rumor, which like the others – was debunked.

The latest rumor started when NW magazine published an article titled “Did Jen Get Flirty With J. Lo’s Man?” where an anonymous source claimed that Aniston had tried getting too close to Rodriguez at DiCaprio’s 44th birthday bash.

The questionable insider said the “Friends” star broke the “girl code” by stopping just short of hitting on Lopez’s beau, who was attending the party alone. “She had a bit of a glint in her eye while talking to A-Rod,” the tipster claimed.

Although she did not directly walk up to Rodriguez in an attempt to flirt with him, she did bat her eyelids at him, the unnamed source added, making Aniston sound like a teenager rather than a grown woman.

Gossip Cop called out the story as “fake news” after talking to the actress’ rep, who confirmed the rumor had no truth to it. While Aniston did go to DiCaprio’s birthday party earlier this month, she did not flirt with the former baseball star. While the actress is single at the moment, she is not actively looking to get romantically involved with anyone, as multiple reports from reliable entertainment outlets have made clear in the recent past.

“She [Aniston] isn’t concerned about dating. She is happy to focus on work,” an insider told People magazine in September, while a different source told Entertainment Tonight in October, “She’s [Aniston] surrounded herself with close friends and feels more centered than ever because she’s not dating anyone and she’s perfectly happy."

In fact, Aniston has herself opened up about how tired she was to be painted in a negative light by celebrity gossip magazines after her divorce from Justin Theroux back in February.

“It’s pretty crazy,” she said in an interview for InStyle‘s September issue. “The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I’m sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They don’t know what I’ve been through medically or emotionally.”

She also pointed out the hypocrisy prevalent in the industry as men are not held to the same standards as women after a breakup.

"When a couple breaks up in Hollywood, it’s the woman who is scorned," she added. "The woman is left sad and alone. She’s the failure. F that. When was the last time you read about a divorced, childless man referred to as a spinster?"
