“Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer has revealed that the latest novel in the highly successful franchise will change the way how readers view their favorite characters, including Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.

While speaking in an interview with US Weekly, the 46-year-old novelist gave some specific details about her new book and how it will surprise the fans when they get their hands on it. Spilling the beans on the book’s central characters Edward and Bella, Meyer said that the readers will be shocked to know the anxiousness of Edward when he met Bella for the first time. According to the award-winning author, Edward thinks that Bella is “serene” and “self-possessed.”

“Edward comes across as very confident and sure of himself in ‘Twilight’ , when the whole time he was actually wracked with doubt and guilt. think readers will be surprised by his level of constant anxiety. While in ‘Twilight’, we got to see all of Bella’s second-guessing and hesitation, from Edward’s point of view Bella, comes across as very serene and self-possessed,” Meyer told the publication.

All the previous books were from the perspective of Bella while the newest book in the series tells the story from the vampire’s point of view.

Later in the interview, Meyer explained that fans will get to know a lot more about Bella in this book than they did in the previous ones while there will be “few glimpses” of Jacob from Edward’s perspective.

“We get to see a lot of pieces of Bella that — in her total obsession with Edward — she found too boring to relate . We only get a few glimpses of Jacob from Edward’s perspective, but I think readers will be surprised by Edward’s reaction to him,” US Weekly quoted Meyer, as saying.

The novelist also shared that writing “Midnight Sun” was “more stressful” than making the first book in the series.

First released in 2005, The Twilight Saga initially included four books, which have sold over 250 million copies. The series spawned five movies that accumulated more than $3.3 billion at the global box office.

Meanwhile, the movies turned out to be a blessing for Kristen Stewart (portrayed Bella Swan) and Robert Pattinson (portrayed Edward Cullen) as they took their popularity to a whole new level.
